The ESA letter must be penned by an LMHP, which goes on to state that you are currently receiving treatment for an emotional or mental disability, and how the emotional support animal will go a long way to aid the treatment. It must comply with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Version IV or V.

The ESA letter must also go on to state how your mental or emotional disability limits the way you participate in your daily activities. It should further go on to recommend how the ESA is a fundamental aspect of your mental health treatment.

Housing With Washington ESA

With the ESA letter, you can get access to adequate accommodation in any building in Washington, even a no- pet building, without the need to pay a 'pet fees', but you will be required to offer a letter stating that the pet will not be violent to others or properties, alongside the ESA letter. If any damage comes from the ESA, you will be made to make payments.
